Bravo PEQ-15 Review

Uncategorized

I’ve been looking for a quality PEQ-15 replica for awhile now because I feel like it’s the perfect finishing touch for any build. Rifles feel empty without them, like something is missing. There’s plenty of hollow PEQ look a likes used for storing batteries, but they tend to look really cheap.

Bravo Airsoft offers a PEQ-15 replica with functionality, which drew my interest. It has a working flashlight, green laser, and IR laser, all for under $75. I was very curious about this, so I decided to check it out.

Build Quality and Construction

The Bravo PEQ-15 has surprisingly high quality externals. The body is plastic like a real PEQ-15 but it feels very solid. The etchings on the housing, the control wheel, even the “bikini” lens covers feel incredibly high quality. Both the push pad on the PEQ-15 body and the included pressure pad have a solid click, and don’t feel sluggish like other replicas PEQ boxes I’ve used in the past.

Because it can be confusing, I want to cover the controls of this PEQ-15 because there’s no instructions in the box. From left to right:

Momentary Light: light will turn on and off when the switch is pressed.

Light Toggle: double press the button to keep the light on forever.

Green Laser Toggle: works just like the light toggle mentioned above.

Light + Laser Combo: also on a toggle switch

IR Laser: you guessed it, toggle switch.

Real IR?

Yes, this incredibly affordable unit has a real IR laser! The lens covers mentioned earlier are also IR filters, so if they’re in front of the green laser or light they’ll be in IR too! This brings up a point about laser safety.

This product is made in china, and the laser has not been tested for eye safeness in the same ways a real PEQ15 or DBAL A2 would be. I can’t confirm if the laser is eye safe, so please do not shine it in people’s eyes because you can cause serious damage. If you don’t want IR capability, there is a screw hole to block your selection dial from going to that position but that screw is not included.

The “bikini” lens covers have a IR filter to go over the flashlight or green laser.

Other Small Details

Because the Bravo PE-15 doesn’t include an instruction booklet I’d like to mention a few things. First, this uses 2x CR123a batteries. These are pretty widely available and can be found online or at your local Walmart. Second, the light is 280 lumens from all the information I’ve found online. Third, the laser can be adjusted with the turrets on the body of the PEQ-15.

Final Thoughts

The Bravo PEQ-15 is a great addition to your airsoft gun if you’re looking for something practical or just for aesthetic reasons. The body is made of an incredibly high quality plastic, the pressure switch works great, and the light is very bright.
