If you’re like me, you’ve probably been sitting at home not doing much shooting. A lot of airsoft fields are closed, and the price of real ammunition has risen so high that it’s cost effective to shoot anymore. Because of this, I’ve been looking for a way to get my shooting fix at home, and I found the answer with the REKT foam dart guns.

This article is a companion piece to the video I did on these pistols, which you can watch here:

Now, I like to be completely transparent with my work. REKT was nice enough to send me these to review for this article and the video posted above. However, there’s a bit of a story behind it. Back in 2019, (which feels like a lifetime ago at this point) I met these guys at an airsoft trade show. I got to play around with the REKT pistols and rifle and I had such a good time with them. We talked about these being great for indoor airsoft fields, and a few months later they asked me if I wanted to cover these in a video.

So what makes these different from other foam dart guns? Well, what makes them really unique is that they’re powered by CO2. Yup, like the same kind you use with your airsoft guns. This gives them a range that’s unlike anything else that’s available. Using these with my friends in all of our tactical gear we were easily hitting each other from 30 feet away. They use standard foam darts, which makes it easy to find ammunition. The OpSix Pistol is muzzle loaded, so all you have to do is push a dart down the barrel between shots and you’re ready to go.

The OPsix pistol stores CO2 in the grip, and is very similar to how many airsoft guns with “stick” magazines function.

Rekt also offers a rifle, which I think is really cool. The OpFour rifle works a little different from the Opsix pistol. First, the CO2 is store in the buffer tube of the stock, similar to options used by HPA airsoft guns. Secondly, this works off a pump action instead of muzzle loading each round like the pistol. The OpFour uses a 12 round detachable magazine, and you load each dart by using the foregrip in a racking motion like you would with a shotgun. This gives you a lot more firepower than the OpSix pistol, and I noticed it tends to have a better trajectory than the pistol.

The REKT OpFour rifle, which works off a pump action system with CO2 stored in the stock.

The plastic on these dart guns is better than I could have expected. The checkering the grips, painted iron sights, and realistic (I’d say 1:1 if not very, very close) are all great details that make these unlike anything else I’ve seen in foam dart guns. These caught my eye because they are so unique, and they’re not too cartoony or unrealistic like other brands while still clearly being a toy. I could see the Rekt lineup being great at indoor airsoft fields as an option, and they’ve been a great way to keep my family and I entertained while we’ve been stuck at home.

Both the OpSix & OpFour are available in red or blue. If you would like to check these products out on Amazon, click the links below!
